Christmas Express - 2nd December 2013
Russet Class enjoyed a wonderful afternoon entertaining some of the older local residents of the village at their Christmas Express event. They took full part in running the event and worked in `committees' beforehand to ensure everything had been taken care of including music, decorations, refreshments and power point presentations.
Russet Class were great hosts to their 50 or so guests and ensured they were welcomed, offered tea, coffee and some delicious homemade cakes. They were entertained by the class singing two new songs they had learnt recently, as well as everyone joining in with some traditional carols. Some of the children also showed their musical skills by playing a clarinet duet of `Walking in the Air' and piano soloists playing `We three Kings' and `Jingle Bells'.
At the end of the afternoon, the children were thanked by one of the guests saying that they had had a thoroughly enjoyable time, they appreciated the effort that the children had put in and they had really enjoyed their company.
