PTA Mini Marathon - 1st April 2015
A gloriously dry, sunny morning welcomed the children to school ready for their marathon endeavours. Mr Poole and Mrs Walker led a warm up on the playground before the KS2 pupils made their way around the village course. For the waiting spectators it didn't seem long before the first runners were back crossing the finish line! When all the KS2 participants had finished, it was time for their KS1 friends to take to the course. Again off they went with enthusiasm and determination and in no time were sprinting towards the finish line.
There was a terrific atmosphere with several former pupils returning to lend a hand and also members of Tunbridge Wells Grammar School for Boys joined the runners to encourage them on their way.
Once back in school, the children were able to enjoy flapjacks (courtesy of Zebedees) or brownies and a welcome drink.
Huge thanks and congratulations should go to the PTA, especially the Mini Marathon team (Kate McAdams, Helen Remordina and Jo Maclean) who worked so hard to put together such a successful event.
