KS2 Stunning Start - Out of Africa - 15th April 2013
The start of a new term and a new topic! Children in KS2 worked in small mixed year groups to discover information about one of the many countries in Africa. They were given a piece of fabric in the shape of the country that they needed to find out about. After consulting atlases they determined what country they were going to research and sewed on the name of the country and located its capital. They also produced a poster with key facts and put together a presentation to present to the other groups. During this time, they also took part in an African drumming and dance workshop which was great fun. A superb patchwork map of many of the African countries is displayed proudly in KS2.
