KS2 Visit to Chatham Dockyard - 24th February 2014
Following the term break, KS2 went on a fabulous trip to Chatham Dockyard. They were blessed with a sunny, dry day which made exploring all the outdoor attractions a lot more fun! There was so much to see and do - there were three decommissioned ships to explore - HM Ocelot a submarine, HMS Cavalier a destroyer and HMS Gannet a tall ship. Everyone experienced a `digital theatre' tour which to retold the story of the construction of wooden-hulled sail-powered warships at Chatham Dockyard. Did you know the famous HMS Victory was built at Chatham Dockyard and it would take 3,500 trees to make a ship from that era?
Here is a snap shot of their day ...
