Sports Day - 26th June 2013
Perfect weather greeted us for our annual Sports Day. The PTA provided an extra incentive of bacon rolls before the start of the event for the many parents, friends and family who were a very enthusiastic crowd. The children competed whole heartedly in a wide range of events, including long distance races, flat races, obstacle and field events - javelin, high jump, standing long jump, shot putt. They competed for their houses in their year groups and the overall winner was Bodiam. The shield was presented by Mrs Shirley Bartlett, one of our longstanding governors, to one of our year 6 sports captains on behalf of her team.
Special thanks must go to Mrs Williams for organising the event; Mrs Bartlett for presenting the shield; the boys from Hayesbrook who came along and helped on the day; a trusty team of scorers; the PTA for providing delicious refreshments and icecreams for the children and also to 'id&c' who very kindly donated the wristbands in the house colours.
